(Chris, I hope you answer this one!;))

We have an old fashioned range with a pilot light, and we consider it our 'hearth' with a constant flame, and light our ritual candles from it.

We have to get a new oven (the door isn't closing anymore :() and we've found exactly one oven that'd need to be shipped to us with a pilot light--- everything is electric start.

We are torn. We like having an eternal flame, but...

So, thought on our range purchase and thoughts on what anyone uses as a hearth, if you use one at all?
