The small Rift Valley town of Naivasha, located northwest of Nairobi (Kenya) and known for its flower farms and tourism, is reeling in shock following the arrest this week of a suspected sex pest and vampire.
Police are holding Geoffrey Njoroge Matheri, said to be about 25 years old, in connection with several bizarre incidents. Two women rescued from his house in the town’s Kihoto shanties said he kidnapped them.
The women, looking sickly and bearing torture marks, said the man raped them, forced them to take drugs, drained their blood and drank it as they watched. The body of a woman with some parts missing was exhumed from a shallow grave in the man’s house.
Another female victim who, however, was lucky to escape from her captor, told reporters that Matheri held her for five days during which he cut her veins, drew blood and drunk it.
Matheri reportedly told detectives he committed the evil acts under the direction of a bishop. Police arrested Bishop Jeremiah Paragyo of New Hope for All Nations Church, who told the reporters that his detractors were out to malign him.
Matheri is also claimed to have confessed to the police that he drunk human blood but sold the body parts to members of a religious cult.
