sauteed okra, rice and fried catfish.

The catfish is farmed from China. I have, since i bought it, learned not to buy catfish farmed from China, because the pollutants in the water make it a not-so-good fish to eat.

This is where I got the info.

Looks like a good site, and fairly helpful. Nice to see there is some fish with no restrictions on eating!

I made steak pie, mashed po ta tos, and carrots and cabbagae, and if I do say so myself it was yummy. :D

It wasn't cordon bleu but it filled a hole.

We went to an easter lunch at my wife's uncle's house yesterday. Since ham was on the menu and I don't eat ham, I decided that I'd bring some roast beef for our contribution. I used a rump roast, a cut I haven't prepared this way before, but it turned out really well! Nice and tender, and made good sandwich meat.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the leftovers tonight. Beef barley soup, beef fajitas, or grilled hot beef sandwiches. :umm:

quote from an Easter party I was at last night:

"Did you know that the back half of the butter lamb isn't kosher?"

2 questions what's an Easter party? (just a party that happens at Easter or is it tradition to gather round and hope we've seen the last of Jesus) and what's butter lamb and the other half of what? oh alright 3 questions.

Salad for me.

For me, an Easter party is a dinner I get invite to by a bunch of Christians. They give me food and I avoid the topic of religion.

A butter lamb is a sort of Easter tradition. It is butter that has been molded in the form of a lamb. Unfortunately, it does not have any blood or entrails so you can only use it as a condiment. No foretelling or sacrificial value alas. besides, they would probably not like it if I did a ritual disemboweling of the butter...

The "back half" would be the portion around the @$$ end of the molded lamb, as opposed to the end around the head of the molded lamb.

Is it wrong that our son wanted to pop the eyes out of the easter butter lamb?

Dagda, it's Polish.

which looks like this (more of an easter dove to me)

this look NICE.

And I don't grok ham for Easter. Is it because it rhymes with lamb? Because I never heard of a sacrificial ham...

I think we're having a bacon and asparagus quiche... I have leftovers...
